Europe-Taiwan Forum

A high-level, invitation-only platform convening senior policymakers, industry leaders, diplomats, and academics to deepen practical cooperation between Europe and Taiwan. The Forum centres on three strategic themes—Global Governance, Trade & Investment, and Defence & Security—and is designed for frank, outcome-oriented dialogue under closed-door rules. Expect ~300 participants and 30–40 speakers across two days, with structured networking built in.

Purpose & Themes

The Forum’s purpose is to translate shared interests into workable initiatives: reinforcing rule-of-law governance, diversifying and greening supply chains, and strengthening collective security. Sessions focus on (i) Global Governance—including Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international bodies; (ii) Trade & Investment—from semiconductors and digital to sustainable manufacturing; and (iii) Defence & Security—cyber, critical infrastructure protection, hybrid threats, and maritime security.

Format & Programme

A concentrated two-day format combines high-impact plenaries with Strategic Track breakouts for deeper work. The cadence includes keynotes, panels, parallel working sessions, and curated networking (mixers, cocktail hour, and a gala dinner) to accelerate trusted relationships and actionable follow-ups. The programme design favours evaluator-style clarity: each session has a defined purpose, expected outputs, and named stakeholders for carry-through.

Participants & Access

Attendance is by invitation only for decision-makers and domain leaders: EU Commissioners and MEPs; senior officials from the Commission/Council and Member States; Taiwanese ministers and diplomatic leaders; and executives and experts across technology, trade, defence, and academia. The closed-door, Chatham House Rules environment enables candid exchange and practical problem-solving.

Outcomes & 2026 Edition

What participants gain: policy-relevant insights, new partnerships, and tangible next steps aligned to the three tracks—plus a clear pathway for follow-on work with European and Taiwanese counterparts. The next edition is planned for Europe in 2026 (city and venue to be announced), with the same high-signal format and networking spine. Expressions of interest and sponsorship opportunities will open in phases ahead of the event.
